When life throws thorns, hunt for Roses.
|
October’s been an important month for us at Hope and Aid Direct and we are thrilled to share some important milestones this month.
|
Appointment of a public relations agency to drive growth
We’ve chosen Rose Media Group to be our Public Relations (PR) partner supporting our efforts.
We were delighted to welcome The Roses our Basildon warehouse along with Gibson Blanc, a professional photographer, who kindly gave up his time to take some fabulous photos!
The Roses had the opportunity to see first-hand the work we do to securely deliver vital supplies and support to communities in Ukraine. We had the opportunity to show them how we have been mastering the logistics of transporting humanitarian aid since 1999.
We cannot wait for our public relations campaign to kick off with an exciting news story so that our Hope and Aid Direct name shines a beacon of hope for those in the greatest need.
| |
|
The aim of our PR partnership is to drive more donations, support the growth of our volunteers, greater interaction with our website and importantly new corporate partnerships.

Focus on corporate donors
Thank you from the bottom of our heart! | | You’ll see below just how important large corporate donations are and we hope to be working with all of these great companies again soon.
We will be having a big corporate drive over the coming months so if you work for an organisation that you think may be able to assist in any way, please do get in touch for a chat at roger@hopeandaiddirect.org.uk
💙 Together, we can all make a positive impact. 💙

A huge shoutout goes to four organisations that were incredibly generous to us, contributing to the October loads. - Solo Laundry and Linen Services, part of the Solo Service Group
- Henry Schein UK
- Boulder Developments
- Skanda Vale
| |
|
Solo Laundry and Linen Services made a significant contribution, donating a large shipment of 300 double duvets and 700 pillows to us, for Ukraine. We collected the donation from Kenfig, Port Talbot, Wales and these are now on their way to provide much-needed comfort to individuals and families affected by the ongoing conflict. This donation reflects Solo’s ongoing commitment to supporting those in need, particularly during times of crisis.
Boulder Developments gifted a large quantity of Superfoil, reflective insulation, some of which has been sent to our partner Ukraine on Palms as part of the recent load and more will be sent over the next few weeks.
Medical and Dental Aid Donation - It’s fantastic to have received 9 pallets of mixed medical and dental aid from Henry Schein UK, hugely important aid welcomed by the team – a further 3 pallets are awaiting their dispatch in the coming weeks.
Food for Ukraine - Once again we must say a big thank you to our friends at Skanda Vale Ashram in Wales who provided pallet quantities of rice, pulses and cooking oil. This is such a huge help and allowed us to send good mixed loads to Alla in Ukraine for onward distribution.

The ongoing conflict in The Middle East
The situation in these locations remains dreadful. As a humanitarian aid charity, we’re desperate to help everyone living through the continued conflict in the region. However, without people on the ground in these countries, the key to any assistance is having a secure supply route to ensure we can battle corruption, and navigate through the legal and governance frameworks.
Our responsibility is to deliver aid to people at a cost that is affordable and with all volunteers kept safe. When these conditions are met, we’re able take further steps towards humanitarian aid distribution.
Gaza and The West Bank are incredibly complex regions.
However, we continue to discuss opportunities, and once this it is safe to enter, avoid corruption and spend your donations wisely, we plan to allocate aid where it is needed.
Lebanon
Although less challenging, Lebanon is still a country with some complications in terms of aid delivery. We’re in regular contact with The Pachamama Project who have a huge and forever growing network of volunteers making reuseable sanitary pads for refugees, currently working in Lebanon. Check them out, they are doing great work.
We’re currently working on a large delivery of nappies, which is providing a little challenging due to certain import complexities. Rest assured, our work continues and we are looking for partners that we can collaborate with going forward.
|
The Spanish Floods
The devastating floods close to Valencia continue to impact the daily lives on those living in the region and whilst Spain has the resources and the ability to react,
We have certain goods classed as crucial relief items for the Spanish communities. We are discussing how we can work with smaller, more agile charities to ensure that aid can be distributed quickly. Keep an eye on updates across our social media platforms.

A post-earthquake helping hand for Koda in Türkiye
As you will know from previous newsletters, we’ve donated funds to Koda in Türkiye which enabled the team to come together with the new mentors of their Post-Disaster Rural Education Support Programme in Ankara.
They were able to put on courses and provide experience in relation to the work they will do for a year with the teachers working in the disaster area as they start their profession. Koda sent over some pictures which shows the team after the event.
