Dear Members,

Here are some updates, news and information:

Prince of Wales Pub Bought

Today we received the excellent news that The Prince of Wales has been bought by Heartwood who intend to make a "multi-million pound refurbishment to ensure it remains at the heart of the local community for many years to come"

Richard Ferrier, CEO, Heartwood Collection, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to acquire what is clearly a much-loved local at the heart of East Barnet village. We will now embark on an ambitious development for the pub to ensure that The Prince of Wales remains a hub for the local community for years to come. We can’t wait to get going!

It's very reassuring that they acknowledge the pub's importance as an asset of comunity value, thanks everyone for your input into the campaign.

Police App

A new policing app has been launched to allow the public to report crimes and incidents, find out information about local policing teams and access prevention advice and support for victims and witnesses of crime. The app, called Police.UK, is available via both the Google Play and iOS App stores.

It allows the public to report crimes and incidents, find crime prevention advice for a wide range of issues, such as burglary or vehicle crime prevention advice, information about local neighbourhood policing teams, local crime information and priorities and any upcoming meetings in the community.

It must be stressed, however, that if it is an emergency the public should always call 999, and the option to call 101 for routine issues absolutely still exists.

Wendy has been recognised for her inspiration, passion and innovation promoting local food growing in the community.

Congratulations!

(Wendy will probably be embarrassed by the attention, but we really couldn't let the award pass without comment!)

Barnet Arts Needs Website Manager

Barnet Arts secretary Ros Staines writes:

"I have a request in connection with our website, which is currently being updated, but which will then not be able to publicise members’ activities and news unless we can find somebody willing to manage it on a voluntary basis. We would be very grateful if you could ask among your membership if anyone has the skills and the time to join our team as website manager. I can provide more information if required.
Kind regards,  Ros"

Please let me know if you can help, and I'll put you in touch

Best regards,

Rob White
